Modica
Modica is located about twenty kilometers from Ragusa, in the south-eastern part of the island. The elegance of its palaces and its streets, richly decorated with baroque motifs, have given considerable impulse to the city’s tourism appeal, which has contributed to the inclusion of the municipalities as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2002. Modica rises at the foot of a rocky ridge, where once there were two streams, now buried. Once important center of southern Sicily, so much to be placed at the head of the homonymous county, the city is composed of two urban agglomerations: Modica Alta and Modica Bassa, both, for different reasons, very fascinating.
For those who wish to visit Modica, you must visit the many shops that produce and sell the delicious chocolate of Modica. The most famous shop is named Bonajuto store.
